Interior Design Project Management

From idea to beautiful result,
your space is in experienced hands

To make life easy for you, we project manage any interior elements of which we have sourced and specified. We can also make recommendations for relevant tradespeople for your project, where necessary.

Any build and trade work will be managed by the contractors, to whom we make ourselves fully available for all site meetings, liaison and continued coordination throughout the implementation of the project.

How we work

Our fees are charged at an hourly rate, by a full project cost or a combination of both. This is established once we have a true overview of the project scope.

After an initial meeting - via zoom or on site - we will put together a personalised design proposal. This outlines the extent of our involvement in your project, and our estimated breakdown of fees, so we’re always on the same page.

FAQ

How much does it cost to use an interior designer?

Our fees are dependent on the size and scope of each project. Some are charged simply per hour that we work, for larger projects we establish a full project cost. In all cases we will give you a better ballpark after we have a chat and get to know you and your project in further detail.

Do I need interior styling or interior design?

Interior styling is for those spaces that need a little extra love. A spruce-up and new injection of life. We achieve this through styling the space with curated feature pieces (eg. furniture, curtains, artwork) and adding splashes of your uniqueness throughout.

Interior design is for those projects that need a head-to-toe makeover (renovation) or are a blank canvas beginning (new builds). We’re involved with everything from the layout to the overall design to the final touches.

In many respects these two go hand in hand, and we are here to help you with any or all of it.

When should I engage an interior designer?

You can use our expertise at any point! Though we generally say the sooner the better.

We do our best work when we’ve started working alongside our clients from the very beginning, to help spatially plan their home, liaising with the contracting team, right through to the finishing touches like sourcing furnishings.

If you’re working with an architect, we prefer to get involved once they’ve created your conceptual plans, allowing time for us to assess how the interior spaces are going to best work for you, and make suggestions/changes to suit.

There are a lot of puzzle pieces when it comes to larger renovation and build work, and many people involved with invaluable expertise to call on. We like to take advantage of the skills and experience brought to the table by all parties to ensure we are achieving the very best results for you.

However, we can also work solely with you to make your existing home feel like you - whether that’s one room or many, as well as source unique pieces you haven’t been able to find.

What kind of projects does Kurio work on?

From large scale renovation projects where we become just one key part of your amazing contracting team; assisting with everything from layout, kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry design, all finishes, fittings and furnishings, through to helping rejuvenate just one or two rooms in your home that may be needing a little extra love. And more often than not, the scale of our projects falls somewhere in between!

Have a space that needs a bit of love or a full overhaul? Think Kurio.

Can Kurio work alongside my project architect?

We are happy to work in conjunction with your chosen architect to help realise the full potential of the interiors side of your renovation or new build project.
